BOOKING CANCELATIONS: for bookings, a minimum of two hours is mandatory. For TOURS, only cancellations 30 days before the first riding day are reimbursed. For HOLIDAY PACKS, only cancellations 90 days before the first riding day are reimbursed.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: It is the responsibility of clients to hold their own travel insurance policy to cover personnel medical care in case of accident out of the riding activities booked with Sintra Flow Riders. No coverage is available from Sintra Flow Riders to ensure clients from loss or in case of damage, theft or other liabilities incurred in the use of the rental bikes and protection gear.
RENTAL BIKES: Sintra Flow Riders confirms that an experienced bike mechanic, prior to renting, reviews each rental bike. Each rental bike is prepped for rental and supplied to clients in properly operating status and is ready to ride.
For the duration of the hire, Sintra Flow Riders will maintain the rental bike in a properly operating status.
Obligations of clients: It is the client’s responsibility to:
1. Follow the Ride Guide instructions, at all times.
Operate the rental bike in a manner appropriate to prevailing road and weather conditions.
Wear a helmet (mandatory) and other protective clothing.
Know the relevant rules of the road and practice safe cycling.
Know how to operate the gears on a bicycle.
Theft of and damage to rental bikes: Subject to this clause the client is responsible for all damage once rental bikes are received by clients. This includes but is not limited to any form of theft and damages the rental bike.
Helmets: Helmets are included and mandatory. Clients agree to wear helmets at all times when riding rental bikes.
PRICES FOR DAMAGED RENTAL BIKE PARTS: Brake levers 30€; Gear shifter 40€; Derailleurs 80€; Dropout 35€; Tires 50€; Scratched suspension sheath 75€; Broken rims 60€; Broken hydraulic dropper post hose 25€; Twisted or broken Chainrings 45€
PERSONAL ACCIDENTS INSURANCE: Personal accident insurance is mandatory for Tourism Companies. This is an important type of insurance because unforeseeable events might occur. Personal Accident insurance responds to the needs of individual security and family welfare regarding the risk of accident. It covers expenses with healthcare and even compensation, in the event the customer, is permanently incapacitated from an accident. This responsibility will therefore be transferred to the Insurance Company through the Personal Accidents Insurance subscription. Allianz Group Personal Accidents Insurance offers a base coverage package that assures protection towards the most severe risks, such as death, invalidity, treatment expenses and funeral expenses. The Insurance Holder, Sintra Flow Riders, should inform the people that make up the group about which insurance coverages are contracted, keeping proof that the information was provided. In case of injuries, medical assistance should immediately be sought. The accident should be reported to Allianz Portugal, in writing, up to a maximum period of 8 days. The accident description report should include a medical report with the nature of the injuries, respective diagnosis and, if applicable, the expected days of working incapacity and indication of a possible Permanent Disability.

Death by accident – capital per person: 25.544,81 Euros; Permanent disability by accident – capital per person: 25.544,81 Euros; Treatment expenses by accident – capital per person: 4.471,53 Euros; Simultaneous death of insured person and consort – capital per person: 15.000,00 Euros; Funeral expenses (spendings) – capital per person: 5.000,00 Euros; Expenses with search & rescue and transportation – capital per person: 1.000,00€
For all of the above, the age limit is 75 years old.
WAIVER: Clients acknowledge and agree that Sintra Flow Riders maintains no control over the operation of the rental bikes by clients, and assumes no responsibility for, and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, third party liability or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of
Any wrongful, negligent or accidental acts or omissions on the part of the client or the client’s agent
Any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by the client
Any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any other party not under the control, direct or otherwise, of Sintra Flow Riders.
Clients hereby release Sintra Flow Riders and its agents and employees from and against any liability happening during the rental period. Clients acknowledge that they are aware of the risks involved with Mountain Biking including, but not limited to physical exertion, forces of nature, accidents, travel via any mode of transport, adequacy of medical facilities, or negligence (other than willful or fraudulent) on the part of employees, agents or others of Sintra Flow Riders.
Clients agree to be responsible for their own welfare and accept all risk associated with the activities they undertake. Clients agree that the terms herein are binding on them, their family members, heirs, successors, assigns, dependents and/or minors accompanying them, and their legal representatives.
Clients acknowledge and agree that Sintra Flow Riders and its agents have the right to refuse participation by any person judged incapable of activities, and for not executing this document or other required documentation. Any dispute happening out of these matters whatsoever, shall be resolved in binding arbitration/adjudication under the laws of the country of Portugal. Any part of this document found to be void or unenforceable shall not negate the enforcement of the remainder.
In case of natural catastrophes, fire alerts, storms or other similar circumstances, Sintra Flow Riders is entitled to cancel, postpone or change the location and services of any classes or tours. In any case, no extra costs or returns will apply.
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR): We only keep the data you give us through the FREE INSURANCE and CLIENT INFO forms and/or contact form and subsequent communication, be they by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media or any other reasonable communication means which are directly relevant to your booking and riding experience here at Sintra Flow Riders. We do not share your data with any third party and promise not to use it for any other purposes than those directly relevant to your booking.

PHOTOS/VIDEOS AND THE USAGE OF THEM: We will NOT sell any pictures where you may be appearing. We may use photos/videos taken during tours and/or rentals for social media through our Sintra Flow Riders accounts, after your consent.
CODE OF CONDUCT and good practice for the visitors of protected areas.
Respect the local ways and traditions. Respect local inhabitants.
Respect private property; close any gate you may encounter along the trail.
Try not to make too much noise, nor engage in peace disturbing activities.
Maintain a certain distance from animals, and do not feed them. Preferably, observe them using binoculars.
Do not pick plants or collect geological samples. Allow other visitors to join you in contemplating their richness.
Take only photographs and memories and capture the beauty of the landscape.
Respect the signs of the Protected Area.
Trails should be used by small groups at a time. Excess of visitors may cause its erosion, as well as the destruction of vegetation
Do not make any fire. Use flashlights for light and bring suitable clothing for warmth
Each visitor is responsible for his own garbage and waste. Place them in the proper bins
Contact the authorities should you encounter any irregularity
FOR YOU OWN SAFETY:
Follow the signaled paths
Picnics should take place in the designated eating areas available in Protected Areas. Know their location before beginning your visit
When cooking use camping stoves in the designated eating areas
Camp only in authorized sites
Watch out for cattle. Although they are not dangerous, they resent strangers approaching their younglings
Practice nature activities in designated locations, and take all safety precautions, do it under the supervision of duly certified tour operators
Keep in mind that the trails may be used by hikers or horse riders or bicycles. Mutual respect and common sense should prevail.
Motor Vehicles are only allowed on roads, except emergency and Mountain services.
ENJOY LOCAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:
Try to obtain information about the several aspects of the Protected Area you are visiting. Go to its supporting structures (Interpretation Centers and Reception Areas), the local Tourism Offices and visit www.icnf.pt
Protected areas are privileged locations for animation and leisure activities. Look for services developed by companies with activities recognized as Nature Tourism at www.icnf.pt or inwww.turismodeportugal.pt

We suggest that you always take the following to your activities: Water, snacks, garbage bags, Adequate footwear and clothing, Sunscreen, Map of the Protected Area and Compass, Contacts of the local authorities. You will always have a guide with you, and an external person will always be available in case of emergency. Mobile phone fully charged.
