No coverage is provided by Sintra Flow Riders to safeguard clients against losses or damage, theft, or other liabilities incurred through the use of rental bicycles and protective equipment.

BICYCLE RENTAL: Sintra Flow Riders confirms that an experienced bicycle mechanic inspects each bicycle before rental. Every rental bike is prepared and provided to clients in suitable working condition and ready for use.
During the rental period, Sintra Flow Riders will ensure the bicycle remains in good working order.

Client obligations: It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that:

Theft and damage to rented bicycles: Subject to this clause, the client is responsible for all damages once the bicycles have been received. This includes, but is not limited to, any form of theft or damage to the rental bicycle.

Helmets: Helmets are included and mandatory. Clients agree to wear helmets at all times while riding a rental bicycle.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE: Personal Accident Insurance is mandatory for Tourism Companies. This is an important type of insurance because unforeseen events may occur. Personal Accident Insurance addresses individual safety and family well-being related to the risk of accidents. It covers medical expenses and may include compensation if the client is permanently disabled as a result of an accident. This responsibility is thus transferred to the insurer upon subscription of the Personal Accident Insurance.
Allianz Group Personal Accident Insurance offers a basic coverage package that guarantees protection against the most serious risks, such as death, disability, medical treatment expenses, and funeral expenses. The Insurance Holder, Sintra Flow Riders, must inform participants of the insurance coverage provided and keep proof that the information was given.
In case of injury, medical assistance must be sought immediately. The accident must be reported to Allianz Portugal, in writing, within a maximum of 8 days. The accident description report must include a medical report detailing the nature of the injuries, diagnosis, and, if applicable, the estimated days of incapacity for work and indication of any potential permanent disability.

CODE OF CONDUCT and best practices for visitors in protected areas
• Respect local customs and traditions. Respect local inhabitants.
• Respect private property; close any gate you find along the trail.
• Avoid making excessive noise or engaging in activities that disturb the peace.
• Keep a safe distance from animals and do not feed them. Prefer observing them with binoculars.
• Do not pick plants or collect geological samples. Allow others to enjoy the natural richness as well.
• Take only photographs and memories—capture the beauty of the landscape.
• Respect Protected Area signage.
• Trails should be used by small groups at a time. Excessive visitor numbers can cause erosion and vegetation damage.
• Do not start fires. Use flashlights for illumination and bring adequate clothing for warmth.
• Each visitor is responsible for their own waste. Dispose of it in appropriate bins.
• Contact the authorities if you notice any irregularities.

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY:
• Follow marked trails.
• Picnics must be held in designated picnic areas within Protected Areas. Locate these areas before starting your visit.
• When cooking, use camping stoves only in designated picnic areas.
• Camp only in authorized places.
• Be cautious around livestock. They are not dangerous, but may react if strangers approach their young.
• Engage in nature activities only in designated areas and take all safety precautions, under the supervision of properly certified tour operators.
• Be aware that trails may be used by hikers, riders, or cyclists. Mutual respect and common sense must prevail.
• Motor vehicles are only allowed on roads, except emergency and mountain service vehicles.

ENJOY LOCAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES:
• Seek information about the Protected Area you are visiting. Visit support facilities (Interpretation Centres and Visitor Areas), local Tourism Offices, and www.icnf.pt

• Protected areas are ideal locations for leisure and outdoor activities. Look for services offered by companies recognized as Nature Tourism providers at www.icnf.pt or www.turismodeportugal.pt
• Use local accommodation services and help promote local development.
• Purchase traditional products.
• Take the opportunity to taste local cuisine.

We suggest that you always bring with you: Water, snacks, rubbish bags, appropriate footwear and clothing, sunscreen, Protected Area map and compass, contact details for local authorities. You will always have a guide with you, and an external contact person will be available in case of emergency. Fully charged mobile phone.

NOTE: According to the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 51/2015, No. 5, of July 21, the implementation strategy for the National Nature Tourism Program (PNTN) establishes the integration and sustainability of the following pillars: Nature conservation, local development, qualification of tourism service offerings, and diversification of tourism activity.
